Course description: START on unclassified road from Dorchester to Middlemarsh
(known as the Old Sherborne Road) at the forward end of a small
lay-by 0.5 miles north of the boundary of Charminster. To see the location on Google streetview, click here.
From the start, proceed
north to Middlemarsh to turn left at small road by GIVE WAY 75yds
sign, before the junction with the A352. To see the turning on Google streetview, click here.
Turn left again after 40 yards at T junction, with care, to join A352 southbound.
Continue through Lyons Gate, Minterne Magna, Cerne Abbas and Godmanstone
to FINISH At the bus shelter, 230 yards beyond the Charminster

Course notes: The
climb to the 'top' of the course is long and undulating. The descent
to Middlemarsh is fast, with riders sometimes travelling
in excess of 50mph. Safety on the descent must be the paramount concern of all riders.
After the turn, the climb to Lyons Gate is
always hard (make sure you save something for it on the way out), and the undulating descent down the valley to the
finish is fast, but has some short sharp climbs to contend with.
